About MetroTurf
Metro Manila Turf Club, known as MetroTurf, opened its doors on February 19, 2013 at the boundary of Malvar and Tanauan, Batangas, with Mt. Makiling as its majestic backdrop.
Our Beginning
MetroTurf was built to help uplift the local horseracing industry and position the Philippines as one of the major racing centers in this part of the world. The facility was developed from the vision of Dr. Norberto Quisumbing Jr., a horse owner, breeder, and lifelong racing enthusiast.
Inspired by his family's long involvement in the sport and their success with champion gallopers, Dr. Quisumbing pursued a racetrack that could stand alongside some of the world's best. That vision took shape in the heart of Calabarzon, creating a modern destination for horsemen, racing fans, owners, and guests.
A first-class racing complex located at the boundary of Malvar and Tanauan, Batangas.
A modern oval with four chutes for racing distances that conform to international standards.
A newly constructed clubhouse and grandstand built for public racing events and premium viewing.
World-Class Construction
Internationally renowned Singaporean racetrack consultant and builder K.K. Kumar led the construction of MetroTurf and personally supervised the project. He described the facility as one that can be compared to the best in the world today.
The racetrack features banking in every corner with no sharp curves, a design choice intended to help protect horses while supporting competitive racing. MetroTurf also houses hundreds of horses, with training taking place each morning in the peaceful Batangas setting.
Facilities
The grandstand is open to the public and includes 24 cubicles for horse owners, trainers, guests, and paying visitors who want a clear view of the racetrack.
The Saddling Paddock is supported by jockeys' quarters, a clinic, conference room, trainer areas, and dedicated operational spaces.
MetroTurf uses United Tote betting machines, wide-screen LED televisions, Australian starting gates, and award-recognized lighting for night races.
Location Map
MetroTurf is situated near the National Road at Malvar, Batangas, with access routes from Calamba, Tanauan, Lipa, and nearby toll exits.
Race Day
Every morning, horses train in the peace and quiet of the rustic surroundings. On race days, the atmosphere changes as fans, owners, trainers, jockeys, and guests gather for live racing.
The races are broadcast live on cable television and are also available through more than 300 off-track betting stations. MetroTurf continues to look ahead with plans for future phases, including a broader complex with hotel and entertainment facilities for major occasions.
We extend our invitation to come and visit MetroTurf at Malvar, Batangas, your best bet in Philippine horse racing.
